Contact Lens Direct Debit Scheme
-
The Black & Lizars contact lens Direct Debit scheme provides a convenient way to spread the cost of wearing contact lenses.
It is not a credit agreement. Your contact lenses are paid for in advance. You will be required to pay the initial first three months payments when you join the scheme.
We will then provide you with a three month supply of lenses. Your bank account will be debited each month. Following your next three payments you will receive your next supply of contact lenses.
Our contact lens schemes include the following benefits:
Contact lens check-up appointments at a frequency based on your optometrist's recommendation (normally £50 per visit).
A non-transferable 20% discount on any products purchased, including sunglasses, spectacles and accessories.
Free home delivery
Depending on your plan type*, you may also receive:
Contact lenses
Solutions, if applicable**
Spare contact lenses. We know that accidents sometimes happen, so we will be happy to offer you occasional replacement lenses, on request. Should you need any emergency replacement contact lenses, please contact your local practice who will be more than happy to help.
These do not form part of your agreement and we reserve the right to alter or withdraw linked benefits without notice.
*this does not apply to specialist contact lenses
**dependent on lens and scheme type. Please speak to your practice for more information.

All payments you make are made up as follows:
£7.95 of the total payment covers your care, i.e. your contact lens check-ups, emergency contact lens appointments and your 20% discount.
A charge for goods, inclusive of postage and packaging. Please note that £7.95 per payment will be deducted from any refunds due at time of cancellation. All prices are subject to review, and any changes to your direct debit will be detailed, via email or letter, with at least 10 days’ notice.
Any queries regarding Direct Debits or contact lens schemes should be discussed with your local practice manager.
Please note, 20% discount does not apply to discounted or promotional products.

We want to make sure your eyes are healthy and that your lenses are as comfortable as they can be, so we will need you to attend an inclusive contact lens check at least once every 12 months - your optometrist will advise if we need to see you more frequently.
Please be aware that if your contact lens check becomes overdue, we will be unable to provide you with contact lenses until you have had a check-up.
If you have not been for your check-up, we will reduce your Direct Debit to £7.95 to ensure that you are not overpaying. We will contact you to advise this.
-
If for any reason your bank or building society rejects our request for your monthly direct debit payment, then we will attempt to contact you.
Please be aware we are unable to send your contact lenses until you have paid the full balance of your delivery and any missed payments could lead to your delivery schedule being altered.
We will contact you to arrange payment of any outstanding monies and can realign your delivery schedule if required.
If we cannot collect your payments, and there are no outstanding monies, your contact lens scheme will be automatically cancelled.

The Black & Lizars contact lens scheme does not have a minimum agreement term and can be cancelled at any time. Please give 3 months’ notice of this, in writing. You can contact your practice by email or post. If you have arrears for products provided, this will be collected before cancellation is complete. We reserve the right to change the terms of your Black &Lizars contact lens scheme agreement giving you 3 months’ notice.
If patients do not pay for their contact lenses through our Direct Debit membership, the cost of any contact lens related consultation is £50 per appointment.
